The Clockwork Isles · ages 8–11 to start

Where getting smarter is how you win.

Cognisle is an adventure your kid grows by learning for real. Broken machines fill a floating world — and the math is what powers them back to life. No quiz bolted onto a game. The learning is the game.

The idea

Most "learning games" are broccoli under chocolate.

Answer three questions, a door opens, back to the fun part. Kids see through it in minutes. Cognisle is built the other way around — solving the math is the thing you do to play.

The usual way

A quiz wearing a costume

Gameplay stops. A worksheet appears. Get enough right and you're allowed to have fun again. Learning and play are two separate things, and one is the tax you pay for the other.

The Cognisle way

The math turns the gears

Balance a machine by solving the equation. Set the gear ratio to hit the right speed. Mix the fuel in the correct proportion. Getting better at math is literally how your world lights back up.

How mastery works

Every kid climbs their own ladder.

Cognisle serves each child work at exactly their level, then moves them up only when they've genuinely got it — and gently eases them back a step if they're stuck, so nobody drowns and nobody's bored.

Built for how kids actually learn

Quietly serious about the learning part.

Adapts to each child

Difficulty tracks your kid's real ability, per skill, keeping them in the sweet spot between too easy and too hard — where actual learning happens.

Mastery, not busywork

A skill only counts as learned when it's shown at the hardest level — with spaced review so it sticks, instead of being forgotten by next week.

Short, honest sessions

Designed for a focused 10–15 minutes, not for keeping a kid glued to a screen. Real progress, then back to the rest of childhood.

For parents

You decide. We keep it clean.

Cognisle is a parent-owned account with your child's profiles under it. It's built to the standards a kids' app should meet — and to earn a parent's trust, not exploit a kid's attention.

  • No ads, everNo advertising and no in-game pressure to spend. Nothing is competing with the learning for your kid's attention.
  • No loot boxes or streak-baitMotivation comes from getting genuinely better, not from fear of losing a streak or gambling for rewards.
  • Built for under-13 privacy rulesVerifiable parental consent, data kept to a minimum, and no open chat with strangers. You control the account and can erase your child's data.
  • Honest pricingFree to try, then a simple family subscription. Families pay, so kids aren't the product.

The world

You're an inventor-apprentice on a chain of floating isles where every machine has gone dark. Relight them, one clever repair at a time — and the isles grow with what you learn.

The Clockwork Isles is the first Cognisle world, tuned for ages 8–11 and focused on math — addition and subtraction, times tables and division, fractions and proportions. It's designed so new worlds and subjects can plug into the same engine as your kid grows.
